My name is Silvia Palax Cojtin, and I’m originally from Guatemala, currently studying in the United States through scholarships. I’m a junior at Taylor University, majoring in Business Management with a minor in Entrepreneurship and a concentration in Human Resources.

My journey in the U.S. began in 2019 when I was awarded a 100% scholarship that gave me the opportunity to complete high school here and continue into college. English is my third language, alongside Spanish and Mayan. I come from a family of six children, and I’m proud to be the first to pursue a college education.

I have a deep passion for serving others and believe in the power of education to transform lives, because it has transformed mine. One of my biggest dreams is to build a school in Guatemala to give children and teenagers access to the kind of opportunities I’ve been blessed with.

Through the generosity and support of many, I’ve received an education that is not only shaping my future but also allowing me to give back and be a voice of hope for others in my community.
