Hello! My name is Danielle Chung, and I am from Avon, Connecticut. I am a rising sophomore at Colby College majoring in math and physics, and I aim to center empathy and care in my efforts to educate others and serve my community.
I will be serving as an intern in the Dominican Republic this summer, from June to the end of July, and I am so excited for this opportunity of outreach to grow in my faith all the while being immersed in Dominican culture.
Ever since going to Constanza, Dominican Republic in 2023 on a short-term mission trip, I have felt the Holy Spirit calling and encouraging me to return and serve again. I am eager to serve vulnerable communities, especially children. Despite the cultural and language barriers I often faced last year, God opened doors for me to connect with others and make meaningful relationships with everyone I met and worked with. I was able to integrate into the community and witness the transformative power of God’s love, with everything on the trip being a testament to how great God is.
I can't wait to see how God will use me so that I may glorify and honor him in all that I do. I appreciate your prayers and support! May God bless you!
