Darlene Wagler

Darlene Wagler is pursuing her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. She is passionate about the intersection of theology and psychology, believing that we are created in the image of a relational God and the way we are designed reflects the glory of God. She has also seen the effects of trauma and evil that disrupts our lives and longs to see humans find healing, freedom, and joy. She believes that our greatest wounds happen in relationship and it is in relationship that we must find healing.

She is honored to join in the work of Jesus from Isaiah 61: “that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified. They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.”

Darlene has worked with children in a variety of settings who have suffered significant trauma and abuse, including as a houseparent in a children’s home in Mexico. It is the faces and stories of these children that has moved her to seek additional training to serve children better. Darlene loves adventures from hiking mountains to trying new foods to exploring urban parks on her bicycle. She also loves spending time with friends discussing fascinating psychological theories or where to find the best tacos in town. She is excited to see how God continues to lead through her time in Peru.
