  • Country Dominican Republic

Rachel is from Phoenix, Arizona and currently serves as a Learning Mentor at the Park Care School in Caraballo, Dominican Republic. She was introduced to Kids Alive through her family members after a mission trip to the DR, which led her to serve as an intern at the Caraballo site during the summer of 2019.

She graduated from Graceland University in April of 2020, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with certifications in Reading and Special Education. She has always had a passion for working with children and educating young minds. Throughout her time in college, the Lord placed a desire on her heart to serve and teach at-risk students and students with special needs. Since then, the Lord has continually put the people and this ministry in the DR on her heart, guiding her desire to serve here again as a missionary and work to support these students in their learning, in believing in themselves, and in understanding Christ's love for them. Rachel hopes to encourage these students in their education toward a bright future and in their walk with the Lord.

As a Learning Mentor, Rachel works closely with the school psychologist to identify student needs and then works with students one-on-one to provide additional support. She also aids in teaching vocational classes to community members, and helps with the girls volleyball ministry. Rachel is passionate about serving others, teaching, and sharing the Gospel with the Caraballo community and the Dominican Republic!
