Help us get life-saving food to the starving children of South Sudan
At the end of February, the UN declared a state of famine in the area where we minister to the children of Wau, South Sudan. Many conditions have come together to create this desperate situation, conditions that children can’t possibly understand. What they do know is that there’s almost nothing to eat.
The precious kids at Good Shepherd Home and in the surrounding community go to sleep to the sound of gunfire. And the violence translates to hunger, because farmers can’t plant or harvest, local livestock is gone, and what little food is available is priced so high that many families can afford only one meal every few days.
According to Francis Tombe, Kids Alive Field Director in Sudan/South Sudan, “Many families here are already starving.”
Kids Alive is committed to keeping the boys at Good Shepherd nourished, and to sharing as much as possible with other kids in the community. Your gift helps us respond to this emergency and offer life-saving food in the name of Jesus!
