Manchay Oasis Family Center, outside Lima, reaches impoverished and at-risk kids and families and works to strengthen them for the long haul. We give them tools to help escape cycles of poverty and violence, introduce them to the truth of how much Jesus loves them, and work with them in marriage and parenting skills.

Our House of Glory ministry serves teen moms and their babies. We began with three young mothers and now have nine in the program, and they are growing in confidence as they learn to care for their babies. To help prepare them for independence, they participate in cooking workshops, learn good parenting strategies, and receive counseling. What a blessing it is to report that seven of the mothers have accepted Jesus as their Savior!

Despite the challenges of the pandemic limiting face-to-face interaction, we have pressed on, supplementing the few in-person activities with phone and virtual connection. We hope to reach up to 25 young, at-risk families in the coming months. Basic education for adults who did not complete primary or secondary school and workshops about the problem of domestic violence will strengthen families and communities.

The girls and families we work with daily often feel there is no hope for their situation, but we are committed to shining the light of truth into their lives, showing them there is hope in Jesus.
